From trims and accessories to cab and bed sizes, the number of pickup truck options can be overwhelming. Additionally, many pickup trucks have a range of different engine options to choose, each tailored to a specific set of needs — such as off-roading, towing, and fuel economy. In 2020, RAM trucks will be getting a brand-new available engine to offer drivers, expanding the lineup’s engine range even further.
The new engine option will be an EcoDiesel engine, allowing RAM’s truck lineup to keep a leg up on competitors with equivalent diesel options. Diesel engines are booming in popularity because of their increased fuel economy and much higher torque output. Right now, the 2020 RAM models have not been rated by the EPA for fuel mileage, but it has been revealed that the EcoDiesel variants will crank out 480 lb-ft of torque and be able to tow up to 12,560 pounds of additional cargo when properly equipped.
This new engine is constructed from lightweight material and will be mated to an air suspension with automatic load leveling, engineered to reduce noise and vibration. 2020 RAM trucks equipped with the new EcoDiesel engine, including the RAM Rebel, are slated to go on sale later this year.
When these new trucks debut, you’ll be able to find them at Rudig Jensen Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep® Ram.
