With gas prices changing constantly, it can be difficult to avoid dropping a lot of money to fill up your tank. But that doesn’t mean you have to ditch your ride! At Rudig Jensen, we have put together a few tips to help you save fuel behind the wheel.
Don’t floor it
While it may be tempting to go from 0 to 60 as quickly as your powertrain will let you, try to limit putting the pedal to the ground. The faster you accelerate, the more gas your car is burning in the process.
Unload the car
Carrying excess amounts of weight makes your car work harder than it needs to. If your trunk is full of things you’ve been meaning to drop off elsewhere, make that trip and get that weight off your car’s shoulders.
Sometimes this is easier said than done. If you can, avoid driving during peak traffic times such as rush hour or popular travel holidays. Sitting in traffic will burn gas without getting you anywhere, which can be detrimental for your wallet.
Keep your car in shape
When your car has mechanical issues, it’s working even harder to compensate for those. Make sure you take your car in for scheduled maintenance to make sure it’s in tip-top shape.
Rudig Jensen is always here to help with any of your service needs. Bring your car to the dealership today and we will be happy to assist you!
